The latest CYBSAFE Annual Cybersecurity Attitudes and Behaviours Report has landed, and the key findings are a mixed bag of positives and negatives.
People are spending more and more time online but on a smaller set of accounts and services. However, users are far more aware of sharing sensitive data. The reports highlights that “participants possess high motivation and self-belief but are paralysed by high levels of confusion, overwhelm, and structural barriers.”
“The foundational attitude toward security has strengthened: the belief that ‘staying secure online is worth the effort’. However, this positive belief is undercut by external and cognitive pressures. The complexity of security information is leading to high rates of confusion, causing nearly half the participants to minimise their protective actions.”
