The benefits of ISO certification

ISO certification requires businesses to implement a rigorous quality management system (QMS). This system helps businesses to identify and correct problems, improve efficiency, and ensure that their products and services meet customer expectations.

Increased efficiency comes from streamlining processes, reducing waste and improving communication. This can lower costs, improve turnaround times and increase customer satisfaction.

ISO certification also demonstrates to customers that your business is committed to quality and customer satisfaction resulting in increased sales, repeat business, and positive word-of-mouth.

How to become ISO certified

Strident can assist with all aspects of ISO certification from an initial consultation through planning and review to arranging certification via a UKAS accredited certification body.

Strident follow the PDCA cycle to assist organisations in achieving ISO compliance. The PDCA cycle, or Demings's cycle as it is sometimes known, refers to Plan, Do, Check and Act.

With this PDCA cycle, we use the 6 Steps to ISO Compliance method as shown below:

6 Steps to ISO compliance

  1. Reveal – carry out gap analysis, identify what is already in place which meets ISO requirements to avoid duplicating work / documents / results
  2. Assess – Assess gaps identified and conduct a business - based risk assessment
  3. Design – Design the ISO management system based on the organisational context, gap analysis and risk assessment results
  4. Launch – Launch your ISO Management system to all
  5. Review – Internally review the launch and performance of the ISO management system
  6. Certify – Invite a UKAS accredited certification body to audit your ISO management system and achieve your ISO certificate

Strident can help you achieve ISO Certification

As fully qualified and experienced ISO and Data protection implementers and auditors, Strident can help your business with the implementation and auditing of the three primary ISO standards.

ISO 27001 - Information Security

ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard to manage information security. The standard was recently updated in 2022. It details requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system (ISMS) – the aim of which is to help organisations make the information assets they hold more secure.

ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System

ISO 14001 defines criteria for an Environmental Management System. It does not state requirements for environmental performance but outlines out a framework that an organisation can follow to set up an effective EMS. It can be used by any business that wants to improve resource efficiency, reduce waste, and reduce costs.

ISO 9001 - Quality Management

ISO 9001 is probably the world's most recognised quality management system standard. It helps organisations implement clear, repeatable processes to maintain a quality service for their customers every time. Achieving ISO 9001 accreditation will help you establish a Quality Management System (QMS) that will help you increase productivity, win new business and save money.

ISO 42001 - AI Management Systems

The ISO 42001 AI Standard is brand new and addresses AI management systems certification. We are one of the first consultancies to offer this standard and are ready to help our customers implement this new standard. This is the world’s first AI management system standard, providing valuable guidance for this rapidly changing field of technology. It addresses the unique challenges AI poses, such as ethical considerations, transparency, and continuous learning.

ISO 13485 – Medical Devices

ISO 13485 is the internationally recognised Quality Management System (QMS) standard for medical devices and can only be implemented with a certified ISO9001 system in place. It specifies the requirements for organisations involved in the design, manufacture, installation, servicing, or distribution of medical devices and related service.

ISO 45001- Health and Safety

ISO 45001 is the international standard for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (OH&S). It helps organisations identify and control workplace risks, prevent injuries and ill health, meet legal obligations, and continually improve health and safety performance.
