More and more Strident customers are using Teams with Voice to make internal and external calls, which opens up a host of possibilities, adding flexibility and simplifying communications. As well as creating call groups and easily redirecting call to specific devices, you can now record phone calls too.
"This is something that Microsoft is embracing and has now created an official partner programme to support call recording," explains Chris Joberns, Managing Director at Strident. "This means it'll be a robust and well-supported feature going forward."
Call recording and compliance
Businesses may need to record phone calls for training or professional standards compliance. The Strident Call Monitor can record all phone calls (both sides of the conversation) and store the call as an audio file. This is automatically archived to the cloud in accordance with your retention policy.
"There are a number of situations where call recording is beneficial, such as a dispute over what was agreed," says Chris. "This is most relevant where legally or financially binding agreements are taking place over the phone."
In addition, call recording can help protect colleagues during difficult calls. "Many businesses will have experienced challenging calls. Call recording removes any ambiguity and enables both parties to review exactly what was said."
Policy-based recording for callings and meetings
Call Monitor adheres to your business's security policies to ensure only authorised users are able to access recorded information. Policies set up in Teams can ensure that colleagues are notified when call recordings are being made, and which colleagues can activate call recording, assuming it isn't on by default.
"Call recording can be paused for 30 seconds, if you're take credit card details for example. Or a manager can listen in on an active call to provide support or training," explains Chris.
