SVC saves time and money with Teams
SVC Solutions specialise in recruitment, training, human resources and health & safety business solutions, working with businesses across East Anglia. Moving to Microsoft Teams from an on-premise server and telephone system has enabled SVC to reduce their monthly systems costs by more than 50%, as well as enhance the way they work.
"Our on-premise server was approaching the end of its service life and, rather than renew, we discussed with Strident the practicalities of moving our entire file system to the cloud," explains Paul Goodchild, SVC Managing Director.
"We wanted to be able to work remotely, more productively and reduce our costs. Following a video call and demonstration, it was recommended that we move to Microsoft Teams and it has really delivered on all those requirements."
Moving to Teams has helped SVC operate effectively during the COVID-19 lockdown period but also enabled the business to exit a leased office and adopt a remote working business culture.

"Strident trained us on using Teams and we've set permissions within the system to ensure the right people have access to the right information. We left the server in place during the transition period but were able to switch it off when everyone was comfortable with the new system."
In addition to moving all their files to the cloud, SVC has also moved its telephone system to Teams. "Strident have been absolutely brilliant in moving our phone system. Other than a hold up getting our previous supplier to relinquish our number, it really has been plain sailing. And Strident have been able to do it all remotely while we were in lockdown."
Using the Teams app, colleagues at SVC can now access their files and phone system on any of their devices, with calls being taken on tablets or documents sent from smartphones. Moving to Voice for Teams has also enabled SVC to more efficiently route calls to the appropriate staff and easily monitor call levels.
