Teams - better collaboration inside and out
Not only does Microsoft Teams enable you to work better with colleagues within your business but it improves communications with your customers and clients too. Microsoft Teams is deeply integrated into the Office 365 environment, enabling information to be shared via Outlook mail client, OneDrive online file storage and directly from within Teams itself.
External access with security
Microsoft Teams comes with strong security features built-in that ensure only the right people have access to the right information. Security policies can be set for individuals or for groups, easily controlling what they are able to view, work on and share.
Sharing information with customers and clients is a common requirement and has often involved bouncing emails back and forth. Teams enables users to provide external access for customers to specific files and folders, either in a collaborative way or read-only. To ensure colleagues don't accidentally provide access to privileged information, Teams administrators can control what is allowed to be shared and who is allowed to do the sharing.
Independent study highlights time savings with Teams
A recent study by Forrester Consulting research highlighted the benefits of moving businesses to Microsoft Teams. The study highlighted a number of benefits for companies using Teams as a primary communication and collaboration tool.
The study found the top four benefits are:
- Teams reduces the total number of meetings and their duration. Online meetings conducted over Teams are reliable and of very high audio-video quality. As a result, employees spend less time addressing setup and call quality issues, and more time interacting.
- Colleagues saved four hours per week from improved collaboration and information sharing. With Teams, features like co-authoring, integrated file storage, and internal directory, colleagues could effectively and efficiently collaborate in real-time.
- Colleagues save more than one hour per week by not having to switch between applications. Access to third-party and line-of-business apps inside Teams from any device benefits all workers, especially remote workers.
- Having resources available online in Teams reduces downtime by 14%. When resources are available in one cloud-based location, downtime is reduced and complexity is lowered, making security and compliance easier.
