Manage calls better with Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams now includes sophisticated call management features that will improve the way phone calls are handled in a small business.

"Microsoft Teams is replacing Skype for Business, bring together an advanced telephone system and powerful Office tools in one easy-to-use application to manage all business communications," explains Chris Joberns, Strident managing director.

Teams can replace your phone system and offers call routing, call parking and call groups. Calls to your DDI (direct dial) can be routed to your mobile when you are out of the office and is easily implemented with an app on your phone, similar to setting out-of-office on your email.

Improve call handling in the office

Getting calls to the right colleagues quickly and efficiently is essential for good customer service. Group Pickup enables users to pick up calls ringing in their set group, while Response Group routes calls to specific departments or groups based on the caller's keypad selection or voice prompts.

Call parking allows you to temporarily put a call on hold and then

• retrieve the call from the same phone or another phone
• transfer it to a group
• keep the original answering phone free for other calls
