RBF - New server and cloud integration

Posted on: 03 Mar 14

RBF was established in 1982 as R Bugg (Forwarding) Ltd and operates from Felixstowe in Suffolk. With more than 30 years’ experience, RBF has a detailed knowledge of the import / export supply chain and customs clearance requirements.

Thanks to a growing business, RBF recently moved offices and took the opportunity to upgrade its IT system at the same time. It was essential that the transition went smoothly to prevent any down time, so Strident installed a new server alongside the existing machine.

It was decided to replace the old server with a new machine to support the 16 PC network. “By ensuring the new server was fully operational before the office move, it was simply a case of moving it over. It went very smoothly,” said Ian Dunn from RBF.

“We carefully plan a migration to ensure a minimum disruption to business,” said Chris Joberns, managing director for Strident.

RBF runs its office systems, including Exchange, on a powerful server network. “Many businesses are still keen to operate a server network and are looking to integrate cloud services in the future. We produce a system that suits the business, whether it’s fixed, cloud-based or a hybrid of the two,” explains Chris.
